After packing up camp and heading up, they reach their destination only an hour north.

The tomb is just a little off the road, a massive door with intricate carvings around the frame in an unknown script. The characters in the script are made up entirely by straight lines. Given that straight lines lend themselves well to carving, it may indicate that whoever created this script was used to carving in stone. The door looks like it will open, as the hinges are intact, but it's ridiculously heavy and will need a lot of people to pull on those big carved handles.

Heave ho?

He's more interested in the carvings. He paces from one side of the frame to the other, inspecting them, marking things down on a pad of paper he brought with him, studying them with that fancy-ass magnifying glass of his. GOOD DAY.]

[ Lana is, of course, being diligent about her role as expedition photographer, snapping photos of the door from a ways back as well as the carvings up close. The crystal attached is really proving itself this time around.

Oh, and once everyone's inside?

The door's is closing behind you, seemingly on its own, and a wash of white light passes over the surface of the door like water. Once that light fades, there's no getting those doors open again. It's been sealed, seemingly like magic.

NOW THAT YOU'RE TRAPPED...

The first thing they'll notice is that this place is weird.

There's an almost energized feeling to it, from the moment they enter the door. Anyone with powers or biological enhancements will feel those powers again... but still be unable to use them. It's like a stirring deep in one's belly, like there's the potential to use those powers, but no way to access them. Technology will flicker and come and go, like a car trying to start on an almost-dead battery. Good thing they have those crystals there to keep them going full-time.

But past that, look at where they are! It's just an open chamber with minimal decoration -- a few pillars, a few decorative busts, all collecting dust. The chamber leads to a tunnel, which is very tall and has a very high ceiling. This tunnel will go on a long way, passing through other chambers, some of them with underground streams running below the path. There are a few bridges -- old, stone, seemingly very sturdy, all of which match the bridges they'd been crossing outside. Good, right?

[Most would be concerned about being trapped in a ruin and trying to figure out where they are. But instead it looks like Allen stops to rub his head with his hand, as if he just received a migraine. Not only that, but there may have been a not so quiet growl from his stomach]

A WAY OUT?

There's a small series of altars off to the side of the door, each with a slot for an item.

A rectangle, a perfect fit for a journal.
A cylinder, maybe the size of a can of soda.
A much, much larger gap, misshapen but rectangular.

It does nothing when touched or poked or prodded, but it looks like things should be put in those slots. Certain things.

[ Lana doesn't have any special powers, so she doesn't really need a moment to readjust like the others. Instead she's wandering over to this thing, but pointedly not touching it. She's snapping photos with her camera before calling out. ]

I think it's a puzzle. Maybe it reopens the door.
