(no subject)

After packing up camp and heading up, they reach their destination only an hour north.

The tomb is just a little off the road, a massive door with intricate carvings around the frame in an unknown script. The characters in the script are made up entirely by straight lines. Given that straight lines lend themselves well to carving, it may indicate that whoever created this script was used to carving in stone. The door looks like it will open, as the hinges are intact, but it's ridiculously heavy and will need a lot of people to pull on those big carved handles.

Heave ho?

[He manages a small grin.]

Don't worry about me. I've dealt with worse. What about you? Barely settled in here and already getting caught in trouble.

Heh. Yfandes will surely chastise me later for this that is for certain.

[He shook his head, regaining his feet and unconsciously smoothing his hair, a peacock habit he had never been rid of, not quite.]

Yfandes...is that the friend who was brought along with you?

[ooc: btw I just wanted to mention I finished the books. xD]

[identity profile] peacockherald.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, my Companion - though you would better recognize her as the white horse that came with us.

[ooc: So this means you will be apping a Stefan or a Tylendel, yeeeeeeees? *enables like a mad thing*]

[identity profile] solar-absorber.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Your...the..[He trails off as he remembers bits of their previous conversation. He'd spoken about her like she was a person.]

I think I remember seeing her. She was very beautiful. [For a horse.]

[ooc: eh...possibly? I have an app in the works for another character but once that's done then I might. But which one? I like them both. >>]

[identity profile] peacockherald.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, thank you. I shall be sure to tell her.

[The fact he could not sat very unwell with him. It still felt like an sore there, an ache that would heal only when he could speak with her again, his sanity kept together through the virtue of still being able to feel their bond.]

[ooc: well, technically, Stefan is Tylendel?]

[identity profile] solar-absorber.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
So you can actually...speak to her? And she understands?

[He's used to strange things, but this is a new one even for him.]

[ooc: I know but they both have subtly different personalities. I still think of Stefan as his own person despite being 'Lendel. I'm probably over thinking this.]

[identity profile] peacockherald.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods.]

I have the talent of mind speech. It means I may speak with her through my thoughts, and she can answer back. It is simply easier if you think of her as a person, simply in a horse's body.

[ooc: No, you have it right. They are the same in many ways, but Stefan is also different from Tylendel. I think there is a portion where Vanyel examines that, actually.]

[identity profile] solar-absorber.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, yeah, sure. Can you do that with all...[Horses, animals, he's not sure how to classify her.] Can you only do that with Yfandes?

[ooc: I find the opposing elements between them interesting. Like 'Lendel, born to a good family of reasonable rank. Stefan, orphaned since forever and raised on the streets, etc. I think he does I just don't remember exactly what was said.]

[identity profile] peacockherald.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
When it comes to animals? No. I can... read people's thoughts, but it is unethical and terribly rude, so I do not, unless there is dire and extreme need. It leaves me feeling... dirty, afterward though. If I must speak with someone mind to mind, I ask permission first.

[identity profile] solar-absorber.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
So you're like a telepath. That's what we call mind readers in my world. It's good though, that you play by the rules. Most people don't appreciate that kind of invasion.

[identity profile] peacockherald.livejournal.com 2011-11-18 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
[He shook his head.]

I do not want to be privy to another's private thoughts if I do not have to be. I have enough thoughts of my own, I do not... do not need to hear theirs and be burdened with them as well.

[He remembered when he had first gained the ability, had felt all the hate, heard all the words. They had been what helped drive him to attempt suicide a second time.]
