After packing up camp and heading up, they reach their destination only an hour north.

The tomb is just a little off the road, a massive door with intricate carvings around the frame in an unknown script. The characters in the script are made up entirely by straight lines. Given that straight lines lend themselves well to carving, it may indicate that whoever created this script was used to carving in stone. The door looks like it will open, as the hinges are intact, but it's ridiculously heavy and will need a lot of people to pull on those big carved handles.

Ah yes. You had the light-based abilities.

Right. They wouldn't be very useful here though, for lighting the way. I haven't learned to release it on little bursts yet.

Mmmm. I can't tell you how much I would like my witchlights right now...

[He glances down at Django, leaping on the chance for a distraction from the dark maw of the tunnel]

How does your ability work, exactly?

Mmm... [he has to think about it]

I haven't really thought about how it works. I just know that I have an energy store in me. My gun, and I guess other Solar devices, help dig up and control that power.

...It would have been nice to have had a solar lamp back home now that I think about it.

So you need these items to control the power?

Yes. Otherwise I'll just let it all out in one burst--like a prominence.

I'm not quite sure what that is. I gather it has something to do with the sun...

So, why can't you release a small amount of the energy at a time?

I think it might be because I'm not a full Solar child... Full blooded I mean. My mother was a Lunar child, so whatever gave my father full control of his powers must not have been passed down to me. [he looks a little down at the mention of his father]

Do you mean to say you aren't human?

I am human! [but this is the first time he'll ever doubt that] ...The Solar and Lunar tribes just... inherited different powers through their blood.

[Enjoy the existential crisis. It doesn't worry Felix. If just having powers meant you aren't human, Felix wouldn't be either]

I see. So do you have any powers from your mother's side?

It grants me immunity to the undeadening process.
