[By now it's clear that the attackers have fled the scene, scattering in several directions of the Dead Zone. All is safe, and at least the giraffes have stopped running in panicked circles.
The attackers certainly left their mark, leaving behind a trail of destruction that can be traced back to the site of the monolith's crash. Smoke still billows out as the fires die out, but there seems to be no sign of life among the debris.
What is that thing? You now know that whatever it is, it's responsible for bringing those creatures to Terre Haute. While the giraffes return to their "normal" lives and others begin to pack up for travel, there may not be another chance to explore the crash site. If you want to explore it, now's the time.]

As much as the attackers creeped out Dairine, she didn't come all this way for nothing. With her quiver on her back, she sifts through a pile of broken parts for anything interesting or useful.]

Did someone say corpses??No actually Aradia is taking her time looking through the debris field for pieces of interest. Anything with interesting markings or alien writing on it is coming with her, but...]... Weird. You'd think there'd be writing on some of these.
THE... SHIP?
It's leaning, still crumbling in places, as if someone set off, well, a very big explosion in the middle of it. It looks deep and full of many places to look around in and have your own exploration... but with the threat of as well as the logical conclusion that this is more than likely where those gross insect people came from, would you really like to take that risk?]

We must know what caused this, and what those...creatures wanted. Who is brave enough to enter?

And unfortunately for those people, who now lay scattered about the grounds, they did not survive. (Wait, are those metal suits?)]

These were obviously the First Gens who had stolen the suits in the first place.
They clearly didn't know anything about fighting aliens despite having this technology, not if York's group could beat them off without the same sort of advantage. Well, either that or they had been entirely too surprised to do so.
This had explained why the aliens were only now making their way to the giraffe village, several days after the crash.
Lastly, an ugly feeling. Did the newly returned residents like Carolina have a blocked memory of living here to begin with...?
He surveys the wreckage with a carefully neutral look.]
We should take care of the bodies.

NosyCurious as always, Bond has been picking his way through the rubble, having no qualms about looking over the bodies as well as the suits. He's currently crouched over one of the bodies, looking through the pockets to see if they had any sort of identification. Unlikely but one never knows, of course.](no subject)

all clues point to this being the camp of the first gens who didn't like them ... and it looks like they didn't have enough time to evacuate. how horrible ...
but, as long as she's got them where they can't come after them, she figures she may as well look to see if there's any part of the suits she can salvage, especially some leftover crystal ]
