[By now it's clear that the attackers have fled the scene, scattering in several directions of the Dead Zone. All is safe, and at least the giraffes have stopped running in panicked circles.

The attackers certainly left their mark, leaving behind a trail of destruction that can be traced back to the site of the monolith's crash. Smoke still billows out as the fires die out, but there seems to be no sign of life among the debris.

What is that thing? You now know that whatever it is, it's responsible for bringing those creatures to Terre Haute. While the giraffes return to their "normal" lives and others begin to pack up for travel, there may not be another chance to explore the crash site. If you want to explore it, now's the time.]

[ Fair enough, and touche.

But there you go with the blessing thing again, as if they needed it. He casts a look at Anne that suggest a minutely arched brow. Partly out of disbelief Felix is really good in a crisis - though he was, to an extent, depending on said crisis - and partly out of disbelief for the 'blessing' bit. Kings needed no blessings. ]

I fairly certain he might already be within, foolish man.

[ His hand tightens on the golden hilt of his sword at the thought, brow suddenly scrunching with worry. Hurrying after was as foolish without getting some measure of the place. ]

Then perhaps you ought to go to his side, so that this progress does not end up without it's leader.

He won't thank me for it.

[ He never did, did he? His lips pursed again, flickering about, assessing quickly. ]

And it will be worth it to understand what we are going into better before I catch up and warn him. I do not think there is imminent danger, but we could have missed something and I do not want to have it coming at our backs.

[ What does thanks have to do with it? Just keep him from dying! The lower the body count, the better, thanks. ]

What do you feel should be the next course of action, then?

[ Only asking because...king (that looks like a queen, really). Like she'd actually ask the opinion of just SOME PERSON. ]

[ You do not bed him, Anne, and it has much to do with it half the time. He is a stubborn man at the best of times, not that he would see him die for it.

And do not be jealous, Anne. He merely has good breeding.]

A quick but thorough assessment of the surroundings, make sure there are no hidden surprises out here to go after the people inside. They will probably have enough at their heads, no need to worry about their backs. Once it's judged safe, post guards at the entrance and send in another team and those that do not go in tend to wounded and the re-gathering of supplies for the return trip home. Everyone should have busy hands, and no one sit idle unless to weak to move.
