[By now it's clear that the attackers have fled the scene, scattering in several directions of the Dead Zone. All is safe, and at least the giraffes have stopped running in panicked circles.

The attackers certainly left their mark, leaving behind a trail of destruction that can be traced back to the site of the monolith's crash. Smoke still billows out as the fires die out, but there seems to be no sign of life among the debris.

What is that thing? You now know that whatever it is, it's responsible for bringing those creatures to Terre Haute. While the giraffes return to their "normal" lives and others begin to pack up for travel, there may not be another chance to explore the crash site. If you want to explore it, now's the time.]

[Well, if there's one thing that will bring the Once-ler out of hiding, it's the possibility of TINKERING with things. He's carefully stepping over the corpses (occasionally letting out an 'ew') and picking up pieces of tech to scrutinize]

Well, one thing's for sure. They're not going to be leaving the way they got here.

[Spike glances up, still looking like he needs to wash some of said guts out of his hair, but otherwise fairly unphased by all the corpses.]

I'm not sure there's anything even worth salvaging out here.

You can never tell what's salvageable. Even the smallest coil or the most insignificant cog can be worth something.

[Spike smiles slightly as he walks off, not bothered at all for being brushed off. Call it a respect for practicality. It's nice to see someone who doesn't use magic as a crutch.

He'll probably have more luck than Spike will with the scraps he already pocketed. But who knows, he may come up with a decent ashtray when all is said and done.]
