[By now it's clear that the attackers have fled the scene, scattering in several directions of the Dead Zone. All is safe, and at least the giraffes have stopped running in panicked circles.
The attackers certainly left their mark, leaving behind a trail of destruction that can be traced back to the site of the monolith's crash. Smoke still billows out as the fires die out, but there seems to be no sign of life among the debris.
What is that thing? You now know that whatever it is, it's responsible for bringing those creatures to Terre Haute. While the giraffes return to their "normal" lives and others begin to pack up for travel, there may not be another chance to explore the crash site. If you want to explore it, now's the time.]

Look lady, having a basic respect for human rights isn't a crime where I come from. You want your friends to be left out here for the elements?

[Despite his words, though, his tone is pretty even. Yep. Nostalgia or not, he's getting the exact same vibes as a post-disaster from home.]
We did come as soon as we could, you know, given that none of us knew exactly where you were.

We filter away from you because you attacked us, you know. And now we're offering to help you clean up, even though you hate us for no reason you've ever made clear to us. I understand that you're angry and that's not changing my offer.
[He sighs.] Look, it might be better if you don't have to bury someone you cared about, okay?

I said go back.

I understand that you're proud, and that what happened here was terrible. But that doesn't mean it's good for you, mentally, to have to bury your own friends. I'm not asking for anything in return, because I've been in this situation before.
I know you hate us, and if there's a reason for it it's one I've never heard. But we're here offering to help now. If you would really rather do this yourself, I'm not going to ask again. But the offer is there, and I'd appreciate it if you'd at least give it some serious thought.

Hey, wanna know what else isn't healthy? Being stuck here for over two decades. But hey, I made do! I'm sure I'll be fine with a few corpses.

Well, it's your mental state.
[He can't help glancing at the iron suits though.]
Now those you stole from a friend of mine. I'm going to take a look, and then I'll leave you alone.

So she stops and shrugs, turning away from them.]
Not like I can stop you.

[Hey, for all he knows, she has some weapon she didn't use against the aliens. But he'll turn away from her and go to investigate the suits.
Were they really powered by crystals? Are the power sources gone beyond salvaging? Is there anything he can pick up by examining them...and do any of them look repairable? He hopes he can find out.]

The suits are clearly damaged beyond repair. Then again, that's a concept that's entirely relative to one's skill. Nancy figures they are, but to someone with skill that matches the creator's, they might be able to make some kind of recovery.
The crystals that powered them, on the other hand, look more like crushed ice. Whatever power they once held, its there no more.]

Seems a shame (not to mention dangerous) to just leave them here, but since he'd already planned on using his horse to rig a sled for Carolina's armor it was probably better not to overburden the poor creature. Maybe he could just disable them instead - remove the blasters from the hands and feet so that even if they were repaired, they'd be missing their flying components and major weapons. He'll fiddle with them a little, but it probably can't be done without tools unless those components are already busted.]
