Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

THE SHEEP

[ A little outside the town on the way in, there is a fenced in sheep's yard. There's no indication of any farms or caretakers nearby the area, yet the sheep look like they've been well taken care of all the same- as well as the wooden fence is in good shape. The sheep seem harmless enough, with their wooly coats and their grazing in their herd. It would almost look like something out of a picturesque farm paining]

[You know, if they didn't have eight legs each.]

[Someone looks absolutely delighted! Jane hurries over to the fence and leans over it to get a closer look.]

The eight-legged sheep! Oh, I'd heard they were out here! I never thought I'd actually see one!

[Care to join her in her enthusiasm?]

[ Sure! With her feet planted on the lowest part of the fence to give her a little more height, have a Katherine standing on it and leaning over the top, a big smile on her face. ]

I've never seen one with eight legs before! I've only seen them with four.

Same here! [She turns to you with a grin.] Do you think they might come close enough to be petted?

They look like spider sheep...

[She's going to give you a quiet, "Oh God there are more kids out here who let the kids out here" glance, but she's quick to cover it up.]

M-Maybe they ARE part spider??

[Quick does not always mean smoothly.]

[Ted is psyched to get his first real glance at new animals. He eagerly runs to the sheep yard. Of course since he's never seen a sheep before, he doesn't know they're not supposed to have eight legs]

Is anyone in charge? Can I pet them?

[he's... less eager, but if no one else was around for the moment]

...I don't think they'd mind.

[going to invite himself right inside the pen so he can be surrounded by sheep]

They're so soft...

[ Oh. Eight legs. Guess who don't care about the extra legs.

Nymeria has already killed one. Arya is in the process of cutting away some of the meat for herself and anyone else who may want it. Sitting behind her, Nymeria voices a long complaint. ]

Hush. I'm almost finished. Then you can eat.

[Oh, eww. Her city girl is showing.]

Are you sure you want to be eating eight-legged sheep?

[ Arya doesn't look up from her task. ]

I've eaten ones with four.

[ Nymeria's complaint is joined by another, an impatient whine added with a huff. By the old gods, hurry up already. ): Direwolves are hungry here!!! ]

You too! Wait your turn!

[Danny sees this, and very quickly turns around and thinks about walking away. Meat was supposed to come in styrofoam and plastic at the supermarket, okay? That was more than enough to make him a little squeamish.

And this was coming from a guy who had once fought a three story tall monster made out of haunted raw meat.]

...Right. I'm starting to think that maybe Sam had a point with all the vegetarian stuff.

[Galadriel is...not nearly as grossed out as you might expect. Elves might not eat quite as much meat as Men, but they do eat some and she's no stranger to the hunt. In fact, she's...almost curious.]

Have you found any other abnormalities? [Hopefully not of the surprise!human body parts variety.]

And they're not ghost sheep? Weird.

[To Danny that was the most shocking part of the whole thing.]

... Dude, I'm going to start charging you a dollar every time you assume something should be a ghost.

[ sheep with eight legs? man, she kind of wishes her mother were here to see this. helen would love these things. ]

Don't suppose anyone has a camera, huh?

[ she'll just have to watch them closely and remember everything she can. ]

Would that even work? I mean, that kind of stuff just kind of...stops, from what I've heard.

[Hi Helen, have a scrawny, pink-haired teenager. She's leaning over the fence, sketchbook in one hand and pencil in the other, and she stares out at the sheep procrastinating observing them. Utena's not exactly an artist or a scholar, but she did promise to take some notes for people back at the castle. Eight-legged farm animals are interesting enough to report back, right?]

[ Don't mind Queen Anne, she's just sitting there staring slack-jawed at these things from atop her horse. You know, until she crosses herself and mutters an unsettled prayer. ]

[Growing up on a farm, Evan was no stranger to sheep, though he's never seen the eight-legged variety before. Nevertheless he's on his knees, checking over one particularly adorable sheep.]

Well, aren't you pretty? Someone must be taking awful good care of you, that you and your sisters look so nice.

[Nearby, Aradia climbs up onto the fence to look over.]

Haha, that's a lot of legs.

[Excuse him just staring at the sheep.

And then turning to write something down in a notebook. Yes, he's taking notes on everything.]
