[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]

Paradisa Town

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

I know. She was pretty pleased with herself. [ And it's better that she take out her aggressiveness on beasts like cockroaches. ] Robb and I got one of the houses near the lake.

And, since I've got you here--that whole thing with the giant crack in the ground in the city, and the Bat-thing...

Mind if that stays between you and me?

I guess. There's no one to tell anyway.

Why were you dressed like that?

[EXACTLY. But Tim would have kittens if he learned MORE people knew about Steph. Given how antsy Cass is about being Batgirl instead of Cassandra Cain, there will be a long discussion about secret identities in Paradisa once they get back.]

Remember a long time ago, I told you about Batman and Robin? And Batgirl?

[SHEEPISH GRIN totally said Batgirl was her favorite for obvious reasons... whoops.]

A little. So you're bat...girl?

Right. Not too many people know that, though.

Why?

For safety. We deal with a lot of dangerous people at home who only know our vigilante identities. If they come here, it's best that it's not easy for them to figure out right away who we are.

But it is easy. You don't hide your hair or-or your voice.

... it's generally a little more difficult when the population is bigger, but yeah, Paradisa makes it pretty easy. Still, gotta keep up appearances.

Why do you have to hide? Put your enemies to the sword.

[Because Batman has his rules! But by now, Steph knows better than trying to explain it to people, especially those who come from a place where killing is the only option.]

There are a lot of them. We don't want to put our loved ones in harm's way. If they know who we are, anyone could go after our families.

Make examples of some. Show them what will happen to anyone who tries.

It's not that easy, unfortunately.

It's not as big of a deal in Paradisa, but my allies are more comfortable with it being this way. [One of them, anyway.] So, I'm trusting you with this.

I'm not going to tell anyone.

I can tell you're trustworthy. Thanks, though. I appreciate it.

[ She shrugs. At the little house, she stops. ]

You want to come in?

Sure. [Nothing to do but to kill time until they head on their way.]

Can you open the door then? My hands are... [ yeah ]

Gross! But yeah, I got it. [Opens the door for her, with a little flourish :') ]

[ Arya eyes her, but she keeps any comments to herself. She heads to the small kitchen, dumping the meat in the sink. Arya quickly washes her hands. ]

Something to say?

Hmm? Oh. Thank you.

Oh, I didn't mean that--but you're welcome. I was just pretty sure you had something to say about the way I opened the door. [Smiles.]
