Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]


Paradisa Town
Note: Talking Animal People and Actually Happy Once-ler Not Included

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

I hope so! [ Although she is entertaining the idea of climbing over the fence as she glances around. But that would be rude, wouldn't it?

Instead, she waits to see if any of the sheep look over their way before reaching out a hand and whistling to the animal. ] Over here!

[Well, if there's nobody around, and they don't damage anything, surely it wouldn't be too bad if they hopped over...?

Jane notices what you're doing and whistles as well.] Yoo-hoo! Over here!

[ After a minute of coaxing, a couple of the sheep come trotting over to where they were by the fence. Leaning further over the railing, Katherine reached down to pat the one closest to her on the head. ]

Your wool is so soft... Except for the legs you really are like regular sheep.

[cyan_maid]

[And Jane pets the one that's nearest to her!] Gosh, they really are soft...I think the last time I ever saw a sheep was in a petting zoo.

A petting zoo? [ She looks to Jane with a curious expression as she continues to pet the sheep. ] What's a zoo?

[cyan_maid]

You've never heard of a zoo? It's a place where animals from all over are brought to live so people can see them and learn about them! Some people would never get a chance to see them otherwise. [She scratches behind the ears of the sheep in front of her. Maybe they like that?] Petting zoos in particular let you pet and feed the animals! They're always the docile kind, though, never anything truly dangerous.

There aren't any zoos where I'm from. [ She shook her head a little when she replied. And the sheep seemed to be enjoying the attention -- she followed Jane's example and scratched behind the ear of the sheep. ] All of the animals live in the forest, but they'll visit the village as well. They come and go as they please.

[cyan_maid]

[Jane blinks.] Really? Even the dangerous ones?

The village is protected so nothing dangerous can get through to it. [ Well, mostly. But that's not a story for now. ]

[cyan_maid]

Really? Oh, my...

[She won't ask what sort of protection and assume it's something to do with fences and guards and such.]

Well, that does sound interesting. The only animals that ever wandered into my yard have only caused me trouble.

[ Magic, actually! Ombric had put many defensive spells around the village which helped to keep everyone so well protected. ]

I've known some to be trouble makers. [ After giving the sheep she was playing with a final pat on the head, she smiled as it toddled off back to the rest of the flock. ] But sometimes it's jsut because they just want to play!

[cyan_maid]

[Jane chuckles softly.] Not in my experience! Unless "play" means "be capricious and mysterious with just a dash of inconvenience".

[ That earns a quiet laugh from her in response. ] It sounds to me that you have your hands full with them.

[cyan_maid]

It's not so much "them" as it is "him", but one strange and silly cat is more than enough for me.

Well, cats can be rebellious and insist on doing things their way. [ She grinned in amusement, recalling some of the cats back in her village. They loved to climb the trees, Big Root in particular. ] I've never had that problem with Kailash though. As long as you don't upset her she's very well behaved.

Then you are quite lucky! Gcat has always been a nuisance. It doesn't matter how nice you are to him, he will meddle with you anyway!
