Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]


Paradisa Town

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

They're all eyeless. Oh, and they have human body parts on the inside.

[It's not enough to stop her from eating burgers and such back in the city, but the animals out here? She's giving them all weird looks. FUCK THAT.]

No, they just have human bodies inside them. It's like--part of their bodies.

Just thinking about it makes me want to gag.

[ That makes her stop cutting. ]

Are they people or animals?

Animals on the outside, animals with weird human bits on the inside. I don't think the human parts were ever... uh, independent or anything.

[wolfchild]

[ Arya stops skinning in favor of cutting the sheep's stomach. She feels carefully through the insides so as not to nick the intestines and ruin the meat.

That's a lot of intestines actually. And one, two, what-- ]

Nothing looks human. It's got eight stomachs, though.

[secondchances]

[Oh, that's just gross.]

That's... a relief.

Want to see?

[ She shoves it open, arms trembling slightly from the exertion. ]

[secondchances]

[No, she definitely does not want to see!! But she doesn't want Arya to think she can't handle it, so she moves closer to peer in. Ewwwwwwwwwwwewewew.]

Huh. That's weird. They must have to digest a lot of food. [Or something like that.]

[wolfchild]

[ Arya shrugs. Carefully, she starts pulling out the insides. Nymeria is immediately alert. With the first stomach out, she's already tearing it open to get rid of the insides and eat the lining. ]

Can't you wait?!

[ When she accidentally nicks the third, Arya gives up. ]

Fine! I'll take the leg, you have the rest. Stupid wolf...

[And she thought Ace's occasional thievery at the dinner table was bad.]

I don't want to imagine how much it takes to keep her fed.

[wolfchild]

[ She talks as she works. ]

A lot. They can go long periods without food, but I try to get her fed at least twice a week. Come on, cut! I don't want her to start hunting people.

[secondchances]

That would be bad. [Expedition group killed by the wolf a little girl brought along. Maybe they could all laugh about it once they revived. Assuming that even worked out here.]

Need a hand?

[ A brief head shake ]

I can do it. You'd just dirty your hands.

I don't mind. I spent part of last week covered in tar.

Robb? [ She stops cutting, setting one of her hands on the grass for balance. ] When?

[secondchances]

Yeah. Last week, when everyone had those marks. Not the ideal way I'd want to meet a king, but he was nice.

[wolfchild]

He is.

[ Finally getting the leg free (and a healthy amount of meat with it), she stands up. Her back complains after so much time spent crouching, but Arya shrugs it off. As she moves away, Nymeria and Grey Wind assault the carcass. ]

I'm going to hang this up and get clean.

[secondchances]

[She stares at the wolves for a moment, then turns away.]

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

[wolfchild]

[ Arya leaves them to it, seemingly unbothered. ]

Did you pick a house to stay in?

[secondchances]

Not yet. My friends are probably checking them out right now, so I'll just crash with them.

Have you seen the roaches?

[wolfchild]

Nymeria killed one. She brought it over to show me.

[secondchances]

[Steph makes a face.]

That's pretty gross.

Do you have a place to stay?

[wolfchild]

[ A shrug. ]

I know. She was pretty pleased with herself. [ And it's better that she take out her aggressiveness on beasts like cockroaches. ] Robb and I got one of the houses near the lake.
