Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town
[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]

Paradisa Town
Note: Talking Animal People and Actually Happy Once-ler Not Included
[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]
[Relax, Explore, Pig out on Peaches - the evening is yours to do as you please.]

Hope someone brought some lemon. These are going to need something to cook with.

Ah- I have some seasonings with me! I'm not sure about a fresh lemon though...

Sunny overhears this and wanders over, peeking into the bucket with a smile, showing her four sharp teeth]
Citrus. [Which clearly means "I have lemon and would be more than happy to share."]
no subject
Also, who brought a baby on the trip, anyway?]
Careful there. Don't fall in. But yeah, pretty much any citrus would be good, but I only see peach trees around.

She knows enough not to lean TOO far into the bucket as to be in any danger of getting an impromptu bath. At his comment about the peaches, however, she straightens and reaches for her Sunny-sized shoulder bag. Within she's packed a number of spices and herbs that she thought may come in handy in a trip such as this. She hadn't brought much that wasn't dried or preserved in some fashion but she DID bring two lemons, just in case.
She pulls them out and holds them up so York can see.]
Lemon. [Or rather, "Peaches wouldn't be useful in cooking fish. They aren't a citrus fruit, you know. Besides: Why settle for something else when I have lemons right here?"]
no subject
Well, now. That's exactly what would go nicely with these fish. Good call, uh--you got a name?
no subject
She smiles, friendly as always as she replies]
Sunny. [Which roughly translates to, "My name is Sunny Baudelaire. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir."]

I know a couple people said they brought herbs and stuff, for cooking. You could probably hit one of them up at the campfire, tonight.
Mind if I join you?

[York grins a little.]
Guess I'll have to be prepared next time. I forgot this place was supposed to have fish.
no subject
[he grins, helping himself to a patch of dirt, and pulls a little bag out of one of the pockets of his vest]
Jerky?
no subject
Thanks. And yeah, the wildlife here? Kind of bizarre, if you ask me. Like those eyeless buffalo on the plains--not edible, believe me. Which kind of puts a dent on any long-term exploration, if we can't count on hunting to supplement our food.

[Disgusting? York looks a little queasy as he describes it.]
--there's no meat inside. They're full of skin. Human skin. And hair and teeth. Like someone turned a person inside out and stuck it inside a buffalo hide.

[ she may or may not be looking for company while she joins the fishing crew. at least she's better at fishing than she is at cooking... ]

no subject
So. Are we fishing for anything in particular or is it a free-for-all? Not that I care. Fish is fish.
no subject
Well, everything I've caught so far is something I was able to identify as edible, but feel free to toss anything back if you don't want to eat it. Carp isn't exactly tasty, and I know I don't have anything to prepare catfish with.
no subject
[ she nods at that. ] Good to know. Never really was much on cooking fish. We tended to buy it like that. Never had much time. Or, y'know, someone else did the cooking.
no subject
It's pretty easy, really. You can fry them up in a pan just like a steak, or if they're small enough you can roast them on the fire like a hot dog. Course, it's always best if you add in seasonings.
