Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]


Paradisa Town
Note: Talking Animal People and Actually Happy Once-ler Not Included

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

[Gale has scored himself a fishing pole of his own, too, and wanders up next to York]

I know a couple people said they brought herbs and stuff, for cooking. You could probably hit one of them up at the campfire, tonight.

[York grins a little.]

Guess I'll have to be prepared next time. I forgot this place was supposed to have fish.

Honestly, I hadn't even thought about it... the only fish I'd seen before were the ones on the trip to Lastlook, and you can't exactly catch those with a pole.

[he grins, helping himself to a patch of dirt, and pulls a little bag out of one of the pockets of his vest]

Jerky?

[He takes it gratefully and opens the bag to munch on a piece.]

Thanks. And yeah, the wildlife here? Kind of bizarre, if you ask me. Like those eyeless buffalo on the plains--not edible, believe me. Which kind of puts a dent on any long-term exploration, if we can't count on hunting to supplement our food.

The buffalo aren't edible? [he frowns. that's worrying, he'd been considering them as a pretty reliable food source for a group this large in case anything went south on them] Why not?

Yeah, no, they're, uh--

[Disgusting? York looks a little queasy as he describes it.]

--there's no meat inside. They're full of skin. Human skin. And hair and teeth. Like someone turned a person inside out and stuck it inside a buffalo hide.
