Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]


Paradisa Town

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

To be fair, I'm more used to fish that comes in a fillet. Still, it isn't that hard to get from point A to point B, and I did bring a knife.

I've always got one of those. [ she does falter for half a second as she settles in. she doesn't exactly have a knife, per se. she's got ten built-in ones that she's still got issues with. ]

So. Are we fishing for anything in particular or is it a free-for-all? Not that I care. Fish is fish.

Never leave home without it. [Sure, his is a combat knife and not a utility knife, but if it was below his dignity to use it he wouldn't be wearing that ridiculous hat, now would he?]

Well, everything I've caught so far is something I was able to identify as edible, but feel free to toss anything back if you don't want to eat it. Carp isn't exactly tasty, and I know I don't have anything to prepare catfish with.

Sounds like me and my gun back home.

[ she nods at that. ] Good to know. Never really was much on cooking fish. We tended to buy it like that. Never had much time. Or, y'know, someone else did the cooking.

Well, that too. [He winks.]

It's pretty easy, really. You can fry them up in a pan just like a steak, or if they're small enough you can roast them on the fire like a hot dog. Course, it's always best if you add in seasonings.

Of course. Totally. [ says the non-cook. ] So what, are you like the cook?

[York just laughs.]

No, but I've eaten enough truly terrible food in my life to know the basics.

Fair enough. I'm definitely here to do some learning. Cooking learning. Fish-catching learning.

Well, this is the right place for that second one, anyway. These fish are pretty easy to catch.

[Which is probably pretty lucky, all things considered.]
