Terre Haute

[Today, our intrepid explorers have finally made it to Terre Haute. It’s mostly grassland, and on the outskirts small spotted lions, about the size of leopards prowl around. They seem to be more interested in the strange antelope running around than in any people, however. Towards the edge, lies a cliff face, looking out to sea, on occasion giant whales can be seen breaching the water.

Of the weird thing they came to look for, in the distance is a cylindrical shape, lying on its side. But between them and it is a strange village. One made up of excessively tall wooden huts, all of which have electric lights, turned on, though how they’re creating such power is a mystery, they are still very much inside the dead zone.

The residents of this off little village are wandering around, going about their buisess. The residents being a group of bemused looking giraffes. Perhaps you will even see some familiar non-giraffe faces milling about.

[And then he sees it...]

It even starles Steph a bit.]

Holy shit.

[Ezio feels that spark of childish wonder when the whale breaks the surface, stunned by both its existence and its sheer size. He'd heard stories, of course, seen pictures... but it was always difficult to imagine something of such great scale.

He laughs, unexpectedly.]

Incredible!

[secondchances]

It's huge! They--they're huge! [Because there are more dark figures in the water. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Steph scrambles to pull Lana's camera from her pack.]

C'mon, c'mon, do it again...

[assassino]

I expected them to be smaller than this!

[He edges closer to the cliff face.]

[secondchances]

[She follows, a few steps behind.

... takes a picture of his butt, heehee.]

I'm pretty sure they are! Paradisa doesn't mess around.

[assassino]

[You rebel.

He's looking for a way down.]

Is it truly Paradisa if we are so far out?

Good point. I have no clue, but it's better than "the world at large."

[When a whale surfaces again, Steph snaps a picture. A little blurry, but good enough. They'll have to come out here again, or check out the coast sometime...]

What are you doing?

I am going down to see.

And the map calls this island Nostos, you know.

[Excuse you.]

Uh. No you're not. We're checking out the town, not whale-riding.

[assassino]

[Dismissive wave.]

I will not take long, I just want to see closer.

[secondchances]

[Tucks the camera away.]

With your sore, old body?

[assassino]

[He's still looking for a good way to climb back up when he remembers his injury.]

Ahh... yes.

[secondchances]

[She expected him to argue, so she's surprised when he doesn't. Now she just feels like a jerk. Aww.]

I'm pretty sure Tim is going to want to see this stuff for himself. If we come back this way, we can climb down and whale watch all you want.

[Whatever, invites Ezio to their cool kid club expeditions.]

[assassino]

I am sure Tim would enjoy that trip... but at least with only skilled travelers, we will not be hindered by the small children and untrained underfoot.

[secondchances]

He'd deal.

We'd cut down on a lot of time, definitely. Or be able to get to more places.

[assassino]

We should do that, then.

[secondchances]

[Smiles.] We will.

[He moves back towards Stephanie, reaching out to affectionately pet her.]

Good. I will hold you to it.

[She puts one arm around him, very mindful of his sides.]

It's been pretty fun, with you and Cass. I don't mind getting covered in dirt and baking under the sun nearly as much as I usually do.

[assassino]

[He leans against her, gently.]

It has been.

[He teasingly ruffles her hair.]

I fear you are starting to smell, though.

[secondchances]

[... her hair that's a little greasy. Sob. She hangs her head.]

I brought the heavy duty deodorant, too...
