Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]


Paradisa Town

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

How have you managed it?

Ah...[how do you even answer that?]

Um, the same way anyone manages living anywhere, I suppose. There's good times and bad times.

No. How have you managed to stay here so long?

Oh...

I don't know...I think it's because I'm cursed.

You're not cursed.

No, I am. That's what my scar is.

The one on your eye? For true?

Yes, that's right. [He'll raise his bangs to show the star at the top] It happened a long time ago.

[ She holds out her hand. ]

[ She nods. ]

[He considers before nodding]

[ She closes the distance between them in only a few steps. Kneeling beside him, she traces the shape of it gently. It doesn't feel cursed. Not that she would know what a cursed object feels like. Perchance it's only the Dead Zone that makes it feel like nothing. Leaning forward, she kisses the star. ]

I am sorry you were. You seem good to me.

[Wow, while he's had people touch his scar before, kissing it was not something that people he wasn't dating did. It's surprising, and yet at the same time such a sweet gesture. He smiles softly. Arya may be rough around the edges a lot, but she has a good heart. there's no doubt about that]

It's...it's all right. It was my fault it happened, and...

Well, in a lot of ways it helped me find a path in my life. So I don't regret it.

Do you really have to be cursed to stay here?

Ah, no...probably not. There's others who have stayed as long as I have and I've heard of folks in the Dead Zone who have been here over eighty years.

It's possible it's that.

Another theory is that the castle feeds on emotions. And therefore if you wear down enough not to care anymore, you're more likely to be sent home.

It's...a rather sad idea, if I must say so.

[ She cares for so little anymore. Does that mean she'll go? ]

Hmm...it holds more weight than those who are quiet go home- but I'm not sure I believe it entirely.

There have been a lot of people who did care that have been sent away, after all.

[ She chews her lip. ]

[ Her eyes flit to him. ]

It doesn't matter. I never get what I want.
