paradisabeyond | Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]

Paradisa Town

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

[ But she does know. The same thing will happen that always does. Her family will be taken away again. Even Sansa. She will be the one left behind.

Her gods have no eyes here. There's no one will want to care for her what with her mother gone. Even Zelos will grow sick of her. He has more important people to worry about than an ugly little girl. Her name is the only thing she has and even it has no value here.

Even if by some miracle they find the way out, she would end up someplace else before she could choose. Someplace worse. Mayhaps that wet road with the dog again.

Some days she thinks it might be better if she dies at the Twins too. She could be with her parents and her brothers again. What's a world worth without Catelyn and Robb in it, anyway? ]

I do try. It'd be easier if we knew where to start.

I know...I wish we had a known starting point too.

But at least learning as much as we can about this world is something. Maybe one day it'll give us a clue.

That's putting a lot of hope on something that wouldn't want us knowing.

[He laughs a little]

I know. But honestly I'd find it more suspicious if it willingly gave us information.

Mm, perhaps so.

Even so! I made a promise that I'd find a way so that everyone can have their choice in staying or going- and so I'll keep looking in whatever spots I can and hope I find a trail.

[ You'll be sent back before you can, she thinks. ]

I do everything I can to make sure I do, yes.

How often does it work out?

More often than one would think.

[ She shrugs and shakes her head briefly. ]

[He'll reach to the back of his neck, and undo a clasp. He pulls out the necklace it was holding, a round black locket with a white cross across the front- and holds it out to Arya]

Here. Could you do me a favour and hold onto this?

Why? [ But she's already reaching for it. ]

It's...It's a locket that was given to me by someone I failed. I always try to wear it, but it keeps getting tangled in another necklace I have to wear and I fret it will cause the chain to break one day and that'd be...

So...can you take care of it for me? I'm sure the person would've liked you, so it would be all right. [Better than a fake brother doing it, one who couldn't save her and caused her such a terrible fate just because she looked like him]

[ She'll keep it secret and keep it safe o7

After tying it around her neck, she slips it inside her tunic. The high neckline hides even the chain. ]

I am....Thank you.

[in a sad way, it almost feels like a weight lifted]

But I'll want it back one day, okay?
