[Good evening, explorers! After departing from Cair Paradisa, the path was south at first, but turned west fairly early on. Skirting well south of Eldritch Forest, the travelers had camped near the edge of the Amber Steppe, not quite within sight of the forest that marks the Totem Coast. The grasses are parched brown by the heat, though greener patches mark the presence of water. It's near one of these - a small, bubbling stream leading west that Raine has chosen to follow as it will almost certainly run into the river marked on her map - that the travelers have made their camp.

The carts and wagons are arranged in a defensive circle, though the campers are free to set up their tents outside them as well as inside wher ethe rest of them are. There are small cooking fires scattered around as well as a large bonfire in the center for socializing.

Play music? Sing? Teach those poor non-Earth kids how to make s'mores? Or just sit around and socialize with others.

Or hide in your tent and ignore everyone, if you really want to.]

[The Once-ler has set up his own very special living accommodation as far away from everyone else as he can possibly get. He really did set a shower and an outhouse at the back of it, too, nicely filled with river water, the shower heated by a complex system of pipes and a small, contained fire.

Once night comes, he knows there will be more than enough room for more than him to sleep inside the cottage-mahome, and he'd hate anyone to be left OUTSIDE anyway. So for now, he's enjoying as much peace, quiet and 'alone time' as he can before its inevitably ruined again. He's just lounging on the grass outside his masterpiece, enjoying a cigar and trying to pretend everyone else doesn't exist for a while.

And yes. He brought the tacky pink flamingo too.]

It;s decorative. Everyone needs a little colour to the trip. Besides, it can be a conversation point. For people who want conversations.

[Seen as Korra is kind-of-family, he doesn;t immediately want her to LEAVE. He takes a long drag of his cigar, puffing out a plume of smoke into the sky before answering her]

[He sideeyes her from his slouchy position]

It's decorative. Brightens up the place, don't you think?

It looks ridiculous. [but she'll glance down at him -- it wasn't the flamingo that brought her over, it was the smell of the cigar] I didn't know you smoked.

And yet it's still awesome. [He looks at the cigar somewhat guilty, before giving a shrug] Well, I do spend a lot of time on my own, no one knows everything about me.

[And with that, he'll put it back in the corner of his mouth] Besides, it's soothing.

[Or rather; more soothing that the less-than-pleasant burning effects of all that Smogulous Smoke he lived in for years]

[She chuckles and decides to sit near you, even if the cigar smoke isn't so pleasant.]

[What's that? Were you about to head in for the night, Once-ler? Because later on, as it's getting dark, Aradia's curiosity finally gets the best of her and she scampers over to take a look at this ... tent? at least she thinks it's a tent.

[Nope, he gave up on privacy in this thing a long time ago. When you have a forest spirit and his animal friends crashing in at any given moment, it's something you have to accept.

He glances up as he notices the movement]

Uh...hi?

[Aradia of course just looks around the interior as if she actually has any right to be there, but after taking it in, turns her attention to the fellow inside. At least I think he's inside.]
