Let's go, shall we?

They seem to be on a path that wraps around the side of a large, rather impressive building. The architecture is all old-fashioned, and far above them they can see the remains of balconies and windows. Once upon a time, this area might have been a walkway or something, but now it's all cracked and screwed up and destroyed. They're just going to have to make their way through the rubble best they can.

OBSTACLE ONE: THE RIVER

There's an underwater river right below the ledge they're standing on, and the next ledge is a bit too far to jump. Good thing there are two ways across: either swing across the ropes that hang midway across the chasm, or climb down, ford the river, and climb back up again. It looks climbable enough.

If you go by water, though, mind how long you're in it -- it's very, very hot, and there's something in the water that looks suspiciously like a giant octopus.

[ jet grabs the nearest rope, testing its strength. of course he's going to swing across. ]

Doable. I'll test it first, and anyone small enough can hitch a ride with me next.

[That river looks a tad warm for his tastes. Pulling his sword out, he dips the tip in it and pulls it back up to test the temperature.

Yep, not going in there wearing armor. Hell naw.]

Swinging across.

[Still wanting to prove himself, he glances at how many ropes there are. If they want to move across quickly, they can't all wait for a free one. He rolls up his sleeves.]

[See Doctor swing. See Doctor lose his grip on the rope and go tumbling into the water. See Doctor attempt to swim in the right direction, get terribly befuddled, and end up face to face with said octopus]

Oh, dear.

[Pulling out his screwdriver, he shines it in the creature's eyes, hopefully blinding it long enough for him to swim to safety... hopefully.]

OBSTACLE TWO: THE HUMAN LADDER

Getting over this bit might require some team work. If you can boost someone up the 12' wall and get them to the top, maybe they can tie off a rope to help everyone else get up. Who's the lightest?

[She comes in at a tiny, pocket sized 5'3" and about 135 pounds. Does she look like a sturdy base? Just look at her and her dumb short self.]

[Eleven looks up the wall. At 5'11" he's about halfway, there. He looks around] Right. Anyone need a boost?

[Fff, talk about a short person. Probably about 4"7 or somewhere around there]

OBSTACLE THREE: LAVA

Did you notice it getting hot? You should be, now. We're talking sweaty, slippery-fingers hot.

That's because there's a small lava flow up ahead, glowing orange with heat. On the heat-color spectrum, orange ain't so bad, but come on; we all know that's still hot as fuck. It's lava.

Getting across is going to be dangerous, but it looks like there's a small ledge that passes over it. If they can tightrope walk across the 6" stone beam without falling, maybe they'll get out of this one okay.

[Going first! Mostly to get away from the very hot lava as quickly as possible. He elbows Allen in passing as he strides to it.]

If I die here, tell no one.

[And by no one, he means Arthur. He stamps on it a couple of times before putting his weight on it. And slowly stepping across. So far so good.]

[A full six inches! Wonderful! This woman has tightrope walked a literal rope while being attacked by an immortal. Piece of cake.

So, she'll be hanging back, positioning herself behind someone who looks like they might need some help, just in case she has to do a last second grab to keep them out of the lava.]

[She's hovering around the back of the group, watching everyone go. However, her protective instincts kick in.]

...If anyone needs help crossing, grab my hand. We'll make it, I swear it.

OBSTACLE FOUR: THE BRIDGE

The bridge is out, but long beams of timber are strewn about. They're rotting, but hopefully with enough, they can bear enough weight. If you can pull them up and move them enough, maybe you can make a new make-shift bridge.

And you better figure it out, because it sounds like that octopus is following you, which is pretty scary because that implies it can get past lava no problem.

[Do her ears deceive her? Nope. That's definitely the sounds of them being hunted back down. Which means her staff is out and she stops, letting everyone go ahead of her to work on the bridge.]

I'll watch your backs. You all start working. Now.

[Yeaaah, that is a little freaky. Goku is hanging back, looking for tentacles.]

[Carolina knows that fisticuffs will do absolutely nothing against a huge octopus, so she's setting about picking up boards, one of them crumbling a little with rot in her hands. This does not at all look good, especially with that octopus approaching.]

OBSTACLE FIVE: THE DON'T-GET-BLOWN-OFF-THE-LEDGE

There's another hole in the floor here, of indeterminate depth, and it's much, much too far to jump. However, a lot of metal poles are jutting out of the walls; if you guys are daring enough, maybe you can monkey-bars your way across. If that's not good for you, there's an extremely narrow ledge that can be crossed, but unlike the balance-beam of before, this one's tight up against the wall, meaning it's less about balance and more about keeping your back to the wall.

And every once in a while, a geyser of water shoots out of the wall, threatening to knock you off.

It depends on which is more of a risk to you, really.

...Does anyone have a working watch or clock? We could time how often the geyser comes.

THE GARDEN

Hold it. What's that?

They've wrapped around a corner of the building, only to find themselves in a courtyard. Sculpted statues, the remains of what was once a greenhouse, a dead and barren garden. It's a very calm, serene place, despite the darkness and the deadness of it all.

In the middle of the garden is a large carved plaque. It looks like it was broken off the top of a marble headstone or something, as there's still chunks of marble attached to the back of it. It reads "LIBET". For anyone who has ever been to the Wanderer's Yard, it may look a little familiar.

Curious.

[Alleyne will hang back a bit, making sure everyone gets in safely, a bunch of leaf-wrapped salves here just in case anyone could use a bit of touching up.

However, this is all curious, and she's made her camp near the plaque, pulling out her notebook and making a crude sketch of it.]
