[This afternoon, the quirky merriment at Terre Haute has something very sudden cutting its way in. There's the very distinct sound of an explosion. It shakes the ground with a small tremor for but a brief moment. Those who are looking at a certain monolith in the distance may see that there is now smoke coming from it, parts of it crumbling and tearing away as black smoke begin to fill the air.

Something's happening at that strange "thing" that fell from the sky. But what? Dare you disregard the unsettling feeling that may begin to steadily fill the air?]

[ That... answers several questions. Ken nods as though this situation was completely warranted and within the realm of reality. ]

It must have been hard to take it with you in the first place... Can you talk?

[ A nod and then shaking his head "no" He does have a scroll with him that has the alphabet written on it, but now doesn't seem like the time to pull that out and try to have a pleasant chat when they both need to stay on their toes in case something nasty pops up over here. ]

[ Ken nods. That's unfortunate. ] Is there anything I can do for you? [ Since the deer was staring in kind of an emergency situation and all. ]

[ A snort as he shakes his head. If anything he should be doing something for this kid! Well, something like defending him, since he obviously doesn't have any writing tools to lend him. ]

[ ... Well, that's worrisome, but idea that his own behavior is a little out of place is flying over his head. ]

[ A nod before twisting his head around to look at the best area to retreat before looking back at Ken. After you, kid. ]

[ aaaand he nods in thanks and confirmation as he books it. He's not worried about mr deer particularly, since he knows that a deer could outrun him anytime, but he does look to make sure he's still safe. ]

[ James will be moving slowly in that direction himself, but keeping an eye out for the people still fleeing. At least the kid seems like he's going to definitely get out of here and to safety. ]
