[This afternoon, the quirky merriment at Terre Haute has something very sudden cutting its way in. There's the very distinct sound of an explosion. It shakes the ground with a small tremor for but a brief moment. Those who are looking at a certain monolith in the distance may see that there is now smoke coming from it, parts of it crumbling and tearing away as black smoke begin to fill the air.

Something's happening at that strange "thing" that fell from the sky. But what? Dare you disregard the unsettling feeling that may begin to steadily fill the air?]

[While those two are covering him, Wash is going to spend his time at least trying to deal with the bleeding. That's the most important thing for the moment...

[But he's not wasting anything and uses his knife whenever he can. The distance of a gun is a real advantage, though.]

For the way back. [She grunts back as she slices into another Collector that nearly gets a hold of her.]

[Wash is continuing to work on the wound, ignoring the bickering. Seriously?]

I know we don't know how many of these things are, or if we'll encounter anything else on the way back, but I'm not going to let someone get hurt now to save a bullet for later.

[Carolina slices through another Collector with her knife before snapping back to him.] You're going to get someone killed.

[That gets a snarl. Wash is annoyed, in pain, and damn it, he does not need this.] Could the two of you stop bickering until the threat is gone?

[York makes a face in Carolina's general direction, but he won't say anything if she doesn't.]

[Carolina outright ignores York as she continues to take down Collectors. Her knife slices into another just as it reaches around for her with its claws.]

[Well, he's got as much done as he can in a combat zone.] I think I'll live.
