[This afternoon, the quirky merriment at Terre Haute has something very sudden cutting its way in. There's the very distinct sound of an explosion. It shakes the ground with a small tremor for but a brief moment. Those who are looking at a certain monolith in the distance may see that there is now smoke coming from it, parts of it crumbling and tearing away as black smoke begin to fill the air.

Something's happening at that strange "thing" that fell from the sky. But what? Dare you disregard the unsettling feeling that may begin to steadily fill the air?]

[Fighting alongside Ezio against a common enemy: a fantasy realized. Steph grins over at him, and then at Cass. Ass kickin' time.]

Man's got a point, I guess! Let's show him what team Batgirl is capable of.

[And then she'll use her staff to pretty much pole vault feet-first into a bug-thing's face :) ]

[Cass hasn't had many chances to be part of a team, but she likes this one. It can be a liability, fighting with other people, but she trusts Stephanie and Ezio to be able to handle themselves.

That doesn't mean she won't be keeping an eye on them to be sure nothing gets the drop on them, but that's something that would happen anyway.]

Talking wastes breath. Be careful.

[Ezio gets a pointed look there before Cass charges into the fight as well, positioning herself in the middle of a group of the weird bugs so she can take out as many as she can as quickly as possible.]

What's the fun in silence?

[Ezio moves into the horde easily, axe in one hand and sword drawn. He fights with the clear intent to dispatch and kill as efficiently as he can, dropping them in no time.]

Right? But I don't know how effective taunting is if they can't understand us!

[Idle conversation while beating back a horde? Sure.]

[It doesn't show much under her cowl, but as Cassandra breaks an arm here or knocks out one of the strange bug men there, she's grinning through the whole fight. This is when she's alive, not when she's dressed in jeans and sweaters and trying to fit in.

She does keep an eye on Ezio more than Stephanie as the fight goes on, to make sure he doesn't hurt himself all over again, but she's too deep in it to stop on her own. She gets lost in the fight, in the calculations of what these alien bodies can withstand and how much force it takes to incapacitate rather than kill. She'll keep going until they run because they always run first, she doesn't lose, she can't.

She's having too much fun.]

[It amuses Ezio somewhat that Stephanie and Cassandra don't bother finishing the job -- these things aren't even human, so they are beasts. Who weeps for the survival of vicious beasts?

And there he goes with his blades, cutting them down. It feels good to do some serious fighting.]

[Hey, if they happen to die, Steph's not gonna lose sleep over it. Or, you know, if all their limbs are broken. It's all good.

Steph's also keeping an eye on Ezio. She knows how Cass fights, but she hasn't seen Ezio honestly go at it.

It's hard to look away, but she does so she doesn't end up getting her ass kicked.

But daaaaaaaaaamn he's good.]

[Cass is judging you, Stephanie. Stop checking out not-your-boyfriend and keep your head in the game GOSH.

But the fight goes fast with the three of them working together and before she's really ready to stop, there's just... no more people for her to punch in the face. Once she's done, she turns to check on Steph and Ezio, see if they need any help with their attackers.]
