[This afternoon, the quirky merriment at Terre Haute has something very sudden cutting its way in. There's the very distinct sound of an explosion. It shakes the ground with a small tremor for but a brief moment. Those who are looking at a certain monolith in the distance may see that there is now smoke coming from it, parts of it crumbling and tearing away as black smoke begin to fill the air.

Something's happening at that strange "thing" that fell from the sky. But what? Dare you disregard the unsettling feeling that may begin to steadily fill the air?]

[Gesturing towards the big, crumbling monolith now. Seriously, she can't believe how chill Raffy is being... but, then again, if the other giraffes panic so easily over a sunset, she can't really blame him. Her? How do you tell that sort of thing with giraffes, anyway?]

[Gender-fluid Raffy just peers over at the monolith and shakes its head.]

Yeah, I guess that's not a good thing, is it? I hope no one's hurt.

Aren't you thirsty, though?

More curious than thirsty, to be honest. I mean, we came all this way to check that thing out, but with all that smo-

[She pauses as she spins her head back towards Don't-Put-Me-Inside-Your-Gender-Boxes-Raffy. Hey, you know who wouldn't have a problem seeing past the smoke?]

Hey! Hey, why don't we make a deal - I'll grab us some juice, if you can get a better look at that thing for me. How does that sound?

[That certainly piques this giraffe's interest! Juice is involved, so it's got to be a great deal.]

Okay! That sounds great! What exactly do you want me to do?

Just get close enough to get a good, long look at that thing, and when you get back, you can tell me what it looks like and what it's doing. I mean, you'll have a better view of it than me, right?

Yes! I use my eyes for seeing! They can see really well. And you promise we'll have juice?

If the tiki hut's still standing? Definitely. Just let me go grab some, okay?
