[This afternoon, the quirky merriment at Terre Haute has something very sudden cutting its way in. There's the very distinct sound of an explosion. It shakes the ground with a small tremor for but a brief moment. Those who are looking at a certain monolith in the distance may see that there is now smoke coming from it, parts of it crumbling and tearing away as black smoke begin to fill the air.

Something's happening at that strange "thing" that fell from the sky. But what? Dare you disregard the unsettling feeling that may begin to steadily fill the air?]

[She might notice a blur of olive green leaping in front of and away from her. Nepeta's not just going to stand around, either, retractable claws sharpened and ready to strike down anything in her way. She lands on her feet, looking this way and that to make sure that no one's getting hurt by one of those creepers. She'll catch eyes with that pink-haired human and give her a thumbs up.]

[Whoa! Utena watches the blur, and her eyes widen when she notices her grey skin - it must be one of those troll people. The surprise is shortlived, though; right now they have bigger things to worry about. And an ally is an ally, right? Utena gives her a quick nod, and readies her stance to fight side by side with her. And, fight they will: upon seeing Utena, one of the creatures dashes towards them, ready to strike!]

[Nepeta's style is a little more hands-on than rapiers and roses. She leaps once again, landing on the back of the creature. She raises a claw high before sinking into its shoulder. It makes a crunch sound that causes her nose to wrinkle, but she does her best to incapacitate it while her new ally strikes.]

[Ezio's moving through the melee swiftly, cutting down creatures with the efficiency of a well-trained soldier. When he sees the pink-haired girl and little cat-woman, he works his way towards them, more specifically because the pink-haired girl seems barely armed and without even passable armor –– he knows that Aradia's kind are formidable in battle.]

[She sees Ezio out of the corner of her eye, but she barely notices him. For now, her focus is on Nepeta and their enemy. The sight - and the noise - makes her nauseous, but she barely hesitates. The entire situation feels unreal, but that works to her advantage, in a way; if it was a human enemy, she might give pause, but instead she dashes forward, fueled by adrenaline, and in one swift moment she jabs her rapier through its armored skin.]

[Nepeta pulls out her claws from where she had driven them deep into its exo-skeleton. There's more of that awful crunching noise, and a bit of its outer shell tears away. Once the rapier is driven through, she can sense the creature is ready to fall, and leaps away from it, almost kicking it to the ground as she dismounts.]

[Ezio keeps an eye on them, when he is not busy felling enemies of his own, using a war axe to drive them back with both blade and blunt force.]

Can you hold your own, ladies?

[And when the creature falls, it finally hits Utena. They did it. Some strange, alien, monster...thing came after them, and they defeated-no, not defeated, they killed it. Big, big difference there. Her head starts to swim, but before she can lose focus completely, Ezio snaps her out of her daze. She spins towards him, breath heavy, and nods.]

I-I think so. [Trying to put on a brave face. May or may not be succeeding, but she's trying] We just-

[Aaand she pales when she sees more creatures coming towards them, and she shuts up immediately to get back into her stance. Fears and doubts are ignored, and as her pulse races, she readies another attack]

[Utena's not the only one to notice the others approaching. Nepeta gives a quick thumbs up to the man in the silly hood before she leaps back into action once again. This time, she's aiming low, hoping to grab onto their legs and topple one of them over.]
