[This afternoon, the quirky merriment at Terre Haute has something very sudden cutting its way in. There's the very distinct sound of an explosion. It shakes the ground with a small tremor for but a brief moment. Those who are looking at a certain monolith in the distance may see that there is now smoke coming from it, parts of it crumbling and tearing away as black smoke begin to fill the air.

Something's happening at that strange "thing" that fell from the sky. But what? Dare you disregard the unsettling feeling that may begin to steadily fill the air?]

[She's unfortunately unarmed, with the exception of her black undersuit, but it's not so much a weapon as it is a pretty weak defense. If they were in the powered zone, she could use her armor, but for now they'll have to make due.]

Carolina. [Without pistols or many weapons, though, she's expecting every one of them to get slaughtered.]

[at a glance, he can tell she's got nothing to work with, and frowns] I've got another knife if you need it.

[Carolina glances over at him. If he's not going to wield two knives, then she's more than comfortable using one of his.] I don't need it, but it'd help.

[he pulls another, only slightly smaller, from a holster in his boot, and holds it out] Here. If we can fall back to where I camped out, just for a minute, I've got a bow and arrows there, too, in my gear. And wire for snares, but I don't know if that'd slow them down any.

[youfallback]

We can hold them while you get more weaponry. [She nods over at him as she takes a firm grip of the knife.] Get back here as quick as you can.

Okay, I'll be back in a minute. [one brief nod, and then he's off running, keeping as low or as close to cover as he can]

[Carolina makes sure to cover him as he breaks from the line of fighters. As the Collectors break upon said line, Carolina begins a series of kicks, trying to get within reach of the eyes before using the knife. She doesn't want to waste one of the few weapons she has before they can get more.]

[she manages to get close enough, but as she does, a few more close on her. just as one reaches her, an arrow comes whizzing out through the melee and lodges in the shoulder joint, between the plates of its exoskeleton. Gale quickly takes the others down in a similar manner, before moving in close to help her finish them off with his own knife]

Good thing I booked it.

[It's been a while since she's been so grateful to see an arrow. She turns enough to see him shooting down the others and she adds a slice or two of her knife to make sure they're down.]

Good thing you're fast, too.

Don't thank me yet, that's only a few down. We don't know how many are out there.

[since she's got the ones he shot covered, he'll pull out his arrows and nock another, already looking to take aim again]

[That part's true, especially as a handful of them rush up to Gale and Carolina. She dives into the frey, knocking one down with a tackle before she promptly begins stabbing it in the face.]
