Terre Haute

[Today, our intrepid explorers have finally made it to Terre Haute. It’s mostly grassland, and on the outskirts small spotted lions, about the size of leopards prowl around. They seem to be more interested in the strange antelope running around than in any people, however. Towards the edge, lies a cliff face, looking out to sea, on occasion giant whales can be seen breaching the water.

Of the weird thing they came to look for, in the distance is a cylindrical shape, lying on its side. But between them and it is a strange village. One made up of excessively tall wooden huts, all of which have electric lights, turned on, though how they’re creating such power is a mystery, they are still very much inside the dead zone.

The residents of this off little village are wandering around, going about their buisess. The residents being a group of bemused looking giraffes. Perhaps you will even see some familiar non-giraffe faces milling about.

[ If a deer can look full of itself then James is managing that right now. He'll never be upset about a compliment someone has for him. Though taking another glance at the creatures he's right they definitely don't look but so capable in comparison. ]

Right now, you are the most exotic thing here, I suspect.

[ He cants his head to the side. Now there's something funny to hear. Deer aren't exactly exotic creatures where he's from. Then again, this is another world entirely. One has to wonder if humans in general would be considered exotic animals here. ]

You know, deer do not exist in my world. We have... a version, I suppose, but not a creature such as you.

[ Straightening up his head quickly at that. Now there's a weird thought. Somehow weirder than the fact that this man is impossibly old. ]

_{[ He raised a brow and chuckled. ]}

What? Did you think animals from your world would be universal through them all?

[ Looking off for a moment before looking back. It's hard to shrug in this body, but the way he's ducking down his head he's trying his best to imitate one. Maybe not all animals, but certainly couldn't imagine a world without deer. ]

Nothing like you in my world, not at all. Oh, we have animals we hunt for their meat, but a deer? I think you might be a bit... frail, for our woods.

[ He's getting an irritated snort in response at that. Frail! Hardly. He was a sturdy animal to say the least. Sure stags weren't predators, but they weren't easily trifled with either. ]
