Terre Haute

[Today, our intrepid explorers have finally made it to Terre Haute. It’s mostly grassland, and on the outskirts small spotted lions, about the size of leopards prowl around. They seem to be more interested in the strange antelope running around than in any people, however. Towards the edge, lies a cliff face, looking out to sea, on occasion giant whales can be seen breaching the water.

Of the weird thing they came to look for, in the distance is a cylindrical shape, lying on its side. But between them and it is a strange village. One made up of excessively tall wooden huts, all of which have electric lights, turned on, though how they’re creating such power is a mystery, they are still very much inside the dead zone.

The residents of this off little village are wandering around, going about their buisess. The residents being a group of bemused looking giraffes. Perhaps you will even see some familiar non-giraffe faces milling about.

Oh, right! That was a great party, by the way! Great color scheme, unlike this place.

It would have been better if all the dead things were alive, though!

[Aradia looks around curiously, but she doesn't see anything wrong with the color scheme in the juice bar... Shrug, maybe it's a human thing.]

Well, thanks. I don't know, though, an uprising of the undead might have killed the mood.

Good point! Zombies are probably not very good party guests.

[Hehe! That might depend on the zombie, of course, but anyway...]

So you haven't been at the castle in a while, right? How long have you been out here?

Oh, I just got here. What is this place?

[She remembers last being in the castle, but her memory of the time between then and now is a blur.]

[That's unusual - she almost thought you'd have believed you were a giraffe until recently, or something like that. That's normally how these things go, right?]

This is Terre Haute. We're way on the east coast of Nostos right now, on expedition.

[London isn't exactly a sponge for information.]

Huh?

[Uh... well gee, she thought that was already in layman's terms.]

Nostos, the continent Paradisa is on. We're way on the east coast of it. It took us about a week to get here.

[Too many words that London isn't familiar with throws her off. She was never too good at paying attention to where she was.]

Ohhh.
You walked for a week? I guess it is cool to have giraffes make you fruit juice and stuff, but I'd have at least taken a limo.

[Doesn't even know what a limo is. 0u0]

We didn't walk the whole way, we've got horses! Nobody knew there were giraffes out here, though. We were coming to have a look at that thing that fell from the sky over thataway. Did you see it when it came down?

A thing fell from the sky? What kind of thing?

[... she'll take that as a no.]

That enormous stone and metal-y looking thing. You can see it from here. [points out the window at the thing.]

[She follows the pointed finger, and gasps.]

That thing fell from the sky?!

Yup. We thought the impact had caused the earthquake at the castle, but since this place is still intact that's probably not the case. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the heck it is, though. It's no normal meteor!

Why? Because everyone needs a closet!

[London smiles, seemingly pleased with herself for having made a valid point, and sips at her juice.]

... But yeah, a lot of the castle town was wrecked in the quake. It was still a mess when we left. So the people living down there will probably need new closets.

That sounds like a lot of remodeling to do.
I hope they were at least able to save all their clothes and shoes!

I don't know, that sure wouldn't be my first priority if my hive was falling down around my sponge clots.

Sounds like you'd have a whole 'nother set of priorities.
Like getting rid of sponge clots.
