Terre Haute

[Today, our intrepid explorers have finally made it to Terre Haute. It’s mostly grassland, and on the outskirts small spotted lions, about the size of leopards prowl around. They seem to be more interested in the strange antelope running around than in any people, however. Towards the edge, lies a cliff face, looking out to sea, on occasion giant whales can be seen breaching the water.

Of the weird thing they came to look for, in the distance is a cylindrical shape, lying on its side. But between them and it is a strange village. One made up of excessively tall wooden huts, all of which have electric lights, turned on, though how they’re creating such power is a mystery, they are still very much inside the dead zone.

The residents of this off little village are wandering around, going about their buisess. The residents being a group of bemused looking giraffes. Perhaps you will even see some familiar non-giraffe faces milling about.

Any kind! Apple juice, orange juice, grape juice, lemon juice, lemon-lime juice, strawberry-kiwi juice, kiwi-mango juice, juicy juice, mango-melon-pineapple juice, pineapple upside-down juice, vegetable juice, tomato juice...

[ still having an internal debate about whether or not this is a good idea. ]

[It's a great idea! A nice, cold glass of apple juice is served right up, complete with an umbrella straw.

The little giraffe looks on expectantly, and won't look away until its satisfied that she is satisfied.]

[ welp, guess she'd better try this drink... thing...

she's cautious, taking an experimental sip to see if it actually tastes like apple juice and then giving him a thumbs up regardless. ]

Fantastic.

[ now to just make sure her head isn't suddenly swimming. do not want deja vu with that. ]

Isn't it? It's like eating an apple. Only you're drinking it. And there are no seeds.

I can get behind the no seeds thing. [ and hey, this stuff isn't bad. HOPEFULLY IT'S NOT POISONED OR DRUGGED OR SOMETHING. ]

I'unno! I guess so. We've been here as long as I have been alive, and that is a really long time to me.

Yeah, I guess it would be. That's cool, though. It's nice out here.
