Terre Haute

[Today, our intrepid explorers have finally made it to Terre Haute. It’s mostly grassland, and on the outskirts small spotted lions, about the size of leopards prowl around. They seem to be more interested in the strange antelope running around than in any people, however. Towards the edge, lies a cliff face, looking out to sea, on occasion giant whales can be seen breaching the water.

Of the weird thing they came to look for, in the distance is a cylindrical shape, lying on its side. But between them and it is a strange village. One made up of excessively tall wooden huts, all of which have electric lights, turned on, though how they’re creating such power is a mystery, they are still very much inside the dead zone.

The residents of this off little village are wandering around, going about their buisess. The residents being a group of bemused looking giraffes. Perhaps you will even see some familiar non-giraffe faces milling about.

I'm startin' to feel like this was a complete waste of time. Here I'd expected something potentially interesting.

But I guess that was my first mistake.

We are not done yet. We still haven't seen the crash site we all came here to investigate...

You did not hear? Many of the residents and townsfolk have seen something fall down from the sky, and they all suspect it to be the cause of the earthquake.

First I've heard of it. [Not that he cares to pay very much attention sometimes, but he would have expected to hear SOMETHING about that.]

Next you'll be telling me that meeting aliens is going to be on our agenda.

This world can be unpredictable, so I can't say no for sure. I truly hope it is not bad news, though.

[He'll just be flashing back to what York said to him when they were getting ready to leave.]

I'm sure something unpleasant is gonna come out of this trip.

Certainly. Have you noticed anything out of place? Other than the giraffes.

Can't say I have. Nothing more out of place than eight-legged sheep, anyway.

Hm-hm. The houses in that town were more constrictive than the tents.

[He shook his head with a quiet laugh.]

Why do you think I still slept outside?

I see. I wanted to sleep outside, however I was too exhausted to set up my tent. [It is a pretty large one too. Rich bitch]

Maybe if you didn't bring a portable mansion, you would have been able to set it up with little difficulty. [Yep, totally made a dig about that.]

And I'm sure someone would have helped had you asked them.

Yes, however a part of me wanted to experience sleeping inside one of those houses.
