Terre Haute

[Today, our intrepid explorers have finally made it to Terre Haute. It’s mostly grassland, and on the outskirts small spotted lions, about the size of leopards prowl around. They seem to be more interested in the strange antelope running around than in any people, however. Towards the edge, lies a cliff face, looking out to sea, on occasion giant whales can be seen breaching the water.

Of the weird thing they came to look for, in the distance is a cylindrical shape, lying on its side. But between them and it is a strange village. One made up of excessively tall wooden huts, all of which have electric lights, turned on, though how they’re creating such power is a mystery, they are still very much inside the dead zone.

The residents of this off little village are wandering around, going about their buisess. The residents being a group of bemused looking giraffes. Perhaps you will even see some familiar non-giraffe faces milling about.

Exactly! And there's no way it could be rebuilt so fast. The town back at the castle is still a mess.

Do you think something funny could be going on...?

Oh, almost undoubtedly. In fact, it's possible the falling thing and the earthquake weren't even related. Paradisa Town wasn't damaged at all either, was it?

[She gasps.] You're right! I hadn't realized it then! So do you think it could have been a localized event to the castle?

[psych0p0mps]

It seems pretty likely. I mean, I would still like to see what landed out here, but it may have been a... what's the phrase? A rusty fish?

[what's rusty here is her earth detective lingo.]

A rusty fish...do you mean a red herring?

[That's the closest thing she can think of.]

Yeah, that's it! A red herring.

Ooh! I didn't think I'd gotten it! [She chuckles!]

[Nods!] But yes, when we get back we will need to investigate what actually caused the earthquake, just to be sure.

Where would we even begin?

I don't know. Under the town, I guess. Wasn't there some huge fissure that opened up? There could be something down there.

[cyan_maid]

Hm...why hadn't we thought of that before? Now that I think about it, even I was quick to point a finger at the falling object as the cause.

[Not entirely seriously:] I blame Vriska, she's the one that saw it.

[cyan_maid]

[Aw she knows it's not too serious.] Well, it falling and the earthquake were perfect coincidental events.

Yeah, the timing is uncanny. But a lot of things are perfect coincidences.
