Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town
[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]

Paradisa Town
Note: Talking Animal People and Actually Happy Once-ler Not Included
[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]
[Relax, Explore, Pig out on Peaches - the evening is yours to do as you please.]

He's not as interested in the animals as he is the bones. He's never seen anything like them before, and isn't sure to what sort of creature they belong to. He knows the general etiquette is to keep your hands off, but he's curious, so after glancing around, he reaches out to touch them.]

It's probably alarmed, y'know.

He pulls his hand back, visibly startled for a moment, and it takes a beat or two for him to summon up a response to that.]
Alarmed how?
no subject
I dunno. Trip wires, pressure switches. The usual sort of thing you find in museums.

[And just because, he finishes what he was doing and gingerly touches one of the bones]
no subject
Well, that was anti-climatic. I feel a little cheated.

A person might feel a little offended by the fact you were hoping they come to harm...
[But his focus is quickly back on the bones]
This feels more like stone...

[Still, now it's obvious nothing is going to show up and cause violence for touching things, the Once-ler will wander a little closer, peering at it]
Maybe they decided to make a cast of a real bone.

Whatever for?

[Dairine steps out from behind the T-rex. How she got there and how long she's been around, who can guess?]
I didn't know you were into dinosaurs.
no subject
[He blinks at her, meaning, no he probably isn't into dinosaurs]
no subject
Yes, there's no doubt about it. Triceratops have very distinctive bone structure. [Dairine stands next to him for a better view.] This one is a Triceratops horridus if you want to be technical.

[She gestures towards the rest of the bone collection.]
These are dinosaurs, creatures that lived on my planet during prehistoric times.

A few could fly but not all of them, and they don't really count as lizards. But modern birds are direct descendants of one branch of dinosaurs... theropod, I think.

He blinks, however, and manages a smile]
I admit I am constantly astounded but what discoveries men are capable of through science.
no subject
It is pretty cool, isn't it. I mean, wizards knew about their existance for a long time, but archaeologists were the ones who found the bones. Not that it's surprising; science often follows closely behind wizardry.
