Terre Haute Expedition: Paradisa Town

[After a long few days of traveling, the expedition team has reached past it's halfway point! And as such, they decide to make rest at a place that had once been the target of a previous expedition:]


Paradisa Town
Note: Talking Animal People and Actually Happy Once-ler Not Included

[A small cutesy village that once served as a world change location, it has now been abandoned of all it's previous residents. Though it's condition hardly looks like a place that hasn't been lived in for years- instead it has the condition that everyone just stepped out for awhile. There are more than enough small houses to fit everyone, so it's a nice break from sleeping on the ground (for some anyway). It's also a good place to stock up if you're one of those explorers that forgot things such as food and spare clothing. That is, if you don't mind peaches and fish and really gaudy clothing.]

But it's not a constant drone.

[So slumping his shoulders and making a whining noise]

[ Arya laughs. Balancing on her feet, she squats down by the edge, hugging her knees. ]

Nymeria jumped the fence and killed one of the sheep. I had to get in there before she killed the others too. I had to stick my hand in her mouth so she wouldn't bite anymore.

What- seriously?

She didn't bite your hand by accident, did she?

She doesn't bite me. The direwolves never bite us.

[ The occasional bruise and bump and scrape and even cut, yes, but details. ]

Right right, nothing wrong with checking.

Are they safe to eat? Scaley and I lived on fish the last time I was here.

[wolfchild]

I think so. Nymeria ate a lot and she's fine. She even ate the second stomach too. Snatched it right out of Grey Wind's mouth.

Second stomach...?

[Do normal sheep have second stomaches? Crap, he knew he should've paid attention in biology class]

There were eight. I thought the meat would be ruined when I started taking them out. The third one broke open so I just cut away the meat that wasn't touched by it and let Nymeria and Grey Wind have the rest.

[wilder]

Whaaaat? Why would anything that size need eight stomachs?

[wolfchild]

And two intestines and two whatever's the name of the tubes going from your mouth to your stomach. You can try asking them to see if they know more.

An esophagus.

And no thanks, I'm not that curious about their anatomy.

[wolfchild]

Esophagus. What about the one to the lungs?

[wilder]

That would be the trachea.

[wolfchild]

[ Trachea. Cool. She'll remember. ]

It only had one of those, at least. [ She picks up a smooth stone. ] Do you know how to skip them?

[wilder]

Stones?

Uh...sure, a little.

[wolfchild]

Can you show me?

[wilder]

Uh..sure! We're going to need some flat smooth rocks first!

[wolfchild]

Um...here!

[ She tosses him one. ]

[wilder]

[Catches it!]

[ Arya tries to mimic him. Her stone sinks like, well, a stone. She glares at the rippling circles on the water like they had insulted her mother. ]

[wilder]

[He laughs]

It takes practice- you'll get the hang of it!

[wolfchild]

[ She tries a second. Her sigh when it sinks too is heartfelt. Brushing off her breeches, she stands. Arya looks longingly at the water. ]

I'll leave you to wash then.

[wilder]

[Poor kid, he knows how frustrating those first stones are. Everyone else would make it look so easy]

Heh...alright. I'll probably catch some fish later to eat, will you want any?

[ She smirks. ]
