Terre Haute expedition: Camping Day 1

[It's been a more or less uneventful day of travel for the expedition team. Not unexpected for the first leg of such a trip, and with any luck, it will stay that way.

As the sun starts to get low in the sky, Felix signals the group with a sharp whistle to stop, shortly after he feels the change. They've entered the Dead Zone. That sudden loss of power for anyone used to that sort of thing. Not an easy thing to adjust to, at first.]

"We've crossed into the border of the Dead Zone now. We should stop here for the night. Those of you with experience, help set up camp as needed. And I recommend a few of you working out a watch schedule. You never can tell what might be out here."

Look, its easy. You roast a marshmallow. Catch it on fire and burn it if you want. Some people like that. Then it goes with chocolate and graham crackers. Easy.

[Elves just eat really healthy, okay? How do you think he and Galadriel (especially Galadriel if we're being honest here) have such flawless skin?]

[Oh, well okay. It can't hurt. He takes it and pokes at the marshmallow for a second. It doesn't look bad at least. Danny is lucky that it will take more than this to destroy hundreds of yeas of healthy habits.]

You roast it. Over the fire. And try not to catch it on fire.

Very well.

[doo dee doo, carefully roasting it until it's nice and golden. He's actually pretty meticulous about it.]

[Meanwhile Danny is laying out the graham crackers and chocolate. Then he grabs his own stick and briefly roasts a marshmallow before setting it on fire.]

[Once his own is ready, Legolas tries to put together a s'more... HAHAHA.]

[Danny blows out the fire on his marshmallows and easily assembles a few smores. He had lots of practice, okay. Then he stops and stares at Legoasl.]

Um, need some help?

Perhaps. We've no treats like this in Middle Earth. Ashura has started to introduce me to sweets but he hasn't shown me this yet.

[Danny leans over and quickly assemble the treat for him.]

You can think of it like a sandwich. Two pieces of graham cracker, chocolate and the masrshmallow.

[Okay, trying a new sugary sweet! Biting into and chewing carefully.]

Hey, its sugar. And chocolate. Its tough to argue against that.

[Plus his camping trips usually ended in ghost attacks. Danny was determined to get what enjoyment he could before everything got complicated.]
