Winchester/Fairfield Expedition - Depature

[After working for roughly a day and a half, nearly nonstop for some of you, the town's looking both healthier and hardier. With most (if not all) of the expeditioners contributing to reparation and building, you've managed to get a lot of work done: all the buildings have at least been patched up to some extent, and the poor broken fence is now standing and sturdy. You've even managed to get together a couple outposts. Nothing fancy-- they're just elevated platforms, really-- but they serve their purpose of allowing people to see far out quite well.

It's probably best to start heading back now, though, since you need the supplies you brought to last you the trip home.]

A miner, but ... I had to help find food for my family. Our town was in pretty rough shape, too. Not quite this bad, but ... it reminds me of home. And if Phoebe's premonition is still going to happen ...

[if he can stop this town from being attacked, it'll feel a little LESS like home, and that's good.]

A miner? You're not even 18? [Okay, that was a bad joke. York winks.]

That is to say, at least you came from something similar. We've got machines to do all that where I'm from, so the most experience I have in this kind of town is when we were here for a week once a couple years ago.

[he gets it, and laughs] Glad I could stay, then. There are probably a lot of other people from - Draconis? - that are the same way. [the other castle's word leaves his mouth awkwardly, as though he's not sure he's pronouncing it properly.]

I know some traps that might work on those cougars, too, and that'll help.

Draconis, yeah. [He repeats it the way Brewer had said it (which happens to be the Latin pronunciation).] And besides, don't judge me too bad. When we were all caught on that crashing ship, I helped keep life support going.

--Wait, cougars? I don't remember them form last time. And I assume you don't mean old ladies who prey on virile young men.

I'm not judging, trust me - there's a lot of things I know I need to learn about. Especially when it comes to electricity-powered stuff. We had television and radio in Panem, but that was about it. At least, in town. I know the Capitol had computers.

... And ... wait, why would you mean something like that when you say "cougar"?

Yeah? Technological divide? Seems like a crime to deny computers to anyone if you ask me, but then we have rights about that kind of thing. I guess I take it for granted, but not everyone has those things. Like public education or clean water.

Man, don't ask me how slang works. It just does.
