[by now, everyone has had a chance to look around Fairfield and get their bearings, right? those who came along and remember it from a few years ago probably found a lot changed and in need of repairs.

as for the distress call, Dr. Brewer and his friend Heath have been pretty friendly and outgoing, but the other refugees from Draconis have stayed in hiding. maybe you're helping with the repairs, maybe you're trying to find those other refugees and see if they need help ... or maybe you're just wandering around and doing your own thing.

either way, there seems to be no sign of those creepy, crawly Collector bugs from Terre Haute, today, so you're free to do as you please! post in one of the sections provided, or make your own - it's all good!]

Oh. Well, that's okay. We didn't exactly get on the trail right when we wanted to, either. You're here to help, now, and that's what counts. [he holds out a hand]

[Oh, handshakes... why do people insist on shaking hands, he doesn't get it. Connor eyes Gale's hand for about a second too long, then grasps it.]

I think we have met before -- well, we have spoken before. I am Connor, if you remember.

Oh! I thought I recognized your voice. [he grins] Thanks for your advice. We - the friend I mentioned, she and I? We're kind of talking again. She's had a really rough time, though, so. It's ... slow going.

[Connor's not a very emotionally demonstrative person, so he only smiles slightly, inclining his head.]

I am glad to have helped you. Are you sharing living space again as well?

We are, yeah ... she didn't come along, though. She doesn't really do all that well out here, because of some things that don't work for her in the Dead Zone.

[He nods.] I understand it is more difficult out here for some people than others. I did not travel with the rest of you in order to see if I could track by skill alone, for example.

[Yeah, Connor had been expecting the conversation to veer toward the other thing! He blinks once, because he figured the bow on his back would have been clue enough, but it's possible some people just use that as a weapon and not for hunting...]

Yes. All men in my village must do their fair share of hunting. [He's like 14 but whatever. He is a man.]

There is not much to hunt unless we are in the Dead Zone, I have found.
