[Good evening, explorers! After departing from Cair Paradisa, the path was south at first, but turned west fairly early on. Skirting well south of Eldritch Forest, the travelers had camped near the edge of the Amber Steppe, not quite within sight of the forest that marks the Totem Coast. The grasses are parched brown by the heat, though greener patches mark the presence of water. It's near one of these - a small, bubbling stream leading west that Raine has chosen to follow as it will almost certainly run into the river marked on her map - that the travelers have made their camp.

The carts and wagons are arranged in a defensive circle, though the campers are free to set up their tents outside them as well as inside wher ethe rest of them are. There are small cooking fires scattered around as well as a large bonfire in the center for socializing.

Play music? Sing? Teach those poor non-Earth kids how to make s'mores? Or just sit around and socialize with others.

Or hide in your tent and ignore everyone, if you really want to.]

Keep pulling, Six. We're still better muscled then any civilian; it's just going to take a little-- extra-- effort [She's got her shoulder against the tree as much as she can, trying to leverage her weight between it and the horse.]

[Still pulling as hard as she can, feeling a slight give.] I know.

Almost there--

[Kat tries to increase her effort, and finally the horse does his own bit of leaning away that gives Kat better leverage and finally offers the space she needs to free her leg. Feeling the sudden gap, the horse steps forward with a grunt, and Kat's immediately dismounting.]

I miss the jeep.

There. [Moving back at that, figuring Kat can handle the rest.] Not that you can drive it all that much better, Kat.

[Yeah, that's debatable. The horse is just meandering on where it wants to go and Kat's trying desperately to turn it around.]

Hey, I do just fine in a jeep. [~~N O P E~~]

No. You don't.

Yeah well we can't all be hot-shot Saber pilots, can we? [At this point she's more irked at the horse, who has stopped to munch on a bush.]

Not everyone has that kinds of skill. I just do.
