[Good evening, explorers! After departing from Cair Paradisa, the path was south at first, but turned west fairly early on. Skirting well south of Eldritch Forest, the travelers had camped near the edge of the Amber Steppe, not quite within sight of the forest that marks the Totem Coast. The grasses are parched brown by the heat, though greener patches mark the presence of water. It's near one of these - a small, bubbling stream leading west that Raine has chosen to follow as it will almost certainly run into the river marked on her map - that the travelers have made their camp.

The carts and wagons are arranged in a defensive circle, though the campers are free to set up their tents outside them as well as inside wher ethe rest of them are. There are small cooking fires scattered around as well as a large bonfire in the center for socializing.

Play music? Sing? Teach those poor non-Earth kids how to make s'mores? Or just sit around and socialize with others.

Or hide in your tent and ignore everyone, if you really want to.]

Now what's that look for, darling?

I hated those lessons.

[wilder]

Ahaha, so did I. Buut, she asked for them and they are necessary, so I'm left with no choice.

But don't worry, it'll only be sword fighting for you. ♥

Good. I'm sick of the rest. Even Mother stopped giving me lessons.

[wilder]

[eyes a bit wide in disbelief]

Really? How did you manage that?

[persequor]

I didn't. Father changed my lessons. While Sansa kept practicing her sewing needles with Septa Mordane, I practiced my needlework with my dancing master. She doesn't like it, but she knows I'm safer for it now.

[wilder]

[he chuckles] Swords are much more useful than needle work anyway.

[persequor]

That's what I said!

[wilder]

Then you are very wise, my darling!

[And by this time they've made it to camp, to the large bonfire in the center.]

And here we are! [Moving to drop the munchkin to the ground] One warming fire!

[persequor]

You didn't have to carry me all the way here.

[wilder]

Felt like it!

[And he's moving to sit down because well, carrying a wet child makes your clothes wet too. Who knew? ]

[persequor]

[ Every parent who's had to bathe their kid.

She inches closer to it, wriggling her toes to get her circulation moving back in her cold toes. ]

This would go faster if I could just hang my clothes up to dry.

[wilder]

Sorry, but I don't have any spares in your size.

[persequor]

I didn't ask you for clothes.

[wilder]

I know.

[He'll just lounge and make himself comfortable. ]

[persequor]

[ She takes off her shirt and throws it at him. ]

[wilder]

[Shirt hits him, he immediately tosses it back] Whoa whoa whoa, darling!

Put that or a blanket on! You're way too young to be pulling off clothes!

[persequor]

It's wet. [ She throws it right back. She sits with her knees pulled up and she hunches over them.. ] There. I'm covered.

[wilder]

[He groans and puts the shirt near the fire, but not near enough to catch]

[He then is dumping his cloak on your back, which is mostly dry. He'll take being cold over getting the crap kicked out of him for people getting the wrong idea]

[persequor]

[ Arya pulls at the cloak in question. ]

I'm not cold.

[wilder]

No, but it'll warn off those who'd scorn either of us.

[persequor]

Who cares about them?

[wilder]

The guy who finds being punched less funny when his healing artes don't work out here.

[persequor]

I wouldn't let anyone punch you. [ And where Arya is too small and human to be helpful, there's Nymeria. ] Won't you get cold?

[wilder]

My hero.

[In truth he doesn't mind getting punched by his friends when he deserved it. It meant they saw him as a person, a human. Not some other creature you don't touch in fear of being sacrilege. But he's finding it that it's hard to explain that to people in Paradisa, so he'll let it drop]

I'll be fine. Tethe'alla might not get summer snows, but it can be pretty chilly.
