[Good evening, explorers! After departing from Cair Paradisa, the path was south at first, but turned west fairly early on. Skirting well south of Eldritch Forest, the travelers had camped near the edge of the Amber Steppe, not quite within sight of the forest that marks the Totem Coast. The grasses are parched brown by the heat, though greener patches mark the presence of water. It's near one of these - a small, bubbling stream leading west that Raine has chosen to follow as it will almost certainly run into the river marked on her map - that the travelers have made their camp.

The carts and wagons are arranged in a defensive circle, though the campers are free to set up their tents outside them as well as inside wher ethe rest of them are. There are small cooking fires scattered around as well as a large bonfire in the center for socializing.

Play music? Sing? Teach those poor non-Earth kids how to make s'mores? Or just sit around and socialize with others.

[ino can't help but be a little interested in her; she feels like the kids and younger people who are coming on this expedition must be a lot like she was when she was younger. people who can fight, who will never know what it's like to be a civilian.

No. Well, I did, but I only came along because I hid in a wagon.

My direwolf. [ Who is currently tied to a tree alongside Aemon so she doesn't bite anyone. ]

Oh! [she smiles] I heard about those from a guy named Jon. Maybe you know him? I think he said his was named ... "Ghost"? Or "Shadow"? Something kind of creepy.

[persequor]

Ghost. Jon is my brother. And Ghost isn't creepy!

[ino]

Oh, your brother, really? [she vaguely remembers him mentioning being some kind of bastard kid, but ... that sounds like drama that doesn't need to be brought up, lmfao] And I didn't mean that the wolf was creepy, just the name.

[persequor]

The name isn't creepy. It's perfect for him. Ghost is as quiet as ghosts.

Huh. [she looks thoughtful] I guess the ghosts in the castle are pretty quiet. I'd never seen one before then, only heard stories about hauntings and stuff.

[persequor]

[ She makes a moue. Big bro was right and name is perfect. World continues making sense. ]

[ Sorry, but thinking about Jon leads to thinking about her other brothers. Not a happy subject.
