Of course. "On January 5th our once-happy castle began to collapse". But it is strange that it uses such a familiar name for the month, given the unusal language we saw on the door.

Not when you consider that while this place may have been built by someone not of earth, the inhabitants could have been.

Perhaps there is a secret code?

[identity profile] payback.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
"If we are already dead, these words are reaching you..."?

None of you probably know this, but at one point, the castle... took a lot from some of the stronger residents. They became like the townspeople for a while and it lasted until after new year as it's celebrated here. I can't remember if it ended that day, though.

[identity profile] luthored.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
You mean when the residents disassembled the castle? I don't remember, but I read about it.

[identity profile] payback.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I was thinking of. Maybe it's not related, but... `[She shakes her head.]

This just raises more questions about Paradisa's nature again.

[identity profile] luthored.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Right. Why did this place collapse? Why didn't it regenerate, and bring in new residents?

And...if this castle's source of power is still active, even partially, then where is it? We haven't even been able to locate our own castle's power core.

[identity profile] payback.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
I would think that the residents provided the power. If some of the technology here is working, maybe some of the magic is still alive - if this place was like ours.

Or they rigged up those crystals. But why all the weird security?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-11-17 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It could've been anything at this point. If the residents themselves are the ones that rigged the power, they probably set up all the tests too. It might be to protect something, but it could just as easily been done in a fit of paranoia of some kind. We still don't know how long they were here, or maybe they went through some sort of group loss -- similar to what we've faced before.

[Shakes her head.]

You're right that it's impossible to answer. We're left with a lot more questions than answers again...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-12-02 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe we'll end up with a few more answers on the other side of this but...

[But for now? She doubts it]

[identity profile] payback.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe.

[Doubts everything :/ Rin is never optimistic about these things. But she looks up, anyway.]

There's no real point in just milling around here, anyhow.
