Winchester/Fairfield Expedition - Camping
[After a long day of traveling over the hilly, grassy grounds of Nostos after a quick trip in the TARDIS, the sun is slowly starting to inch its way down to the horizon, the light catching on the clouds and making quite a spectacular sunset view. It's time to halt the traveling and rest the animals, get those tents pitched and crack out the canned foods. You're pretty deep into the Dead Zone, now, and stretched before you are rolling plains, with the only foliage being the golden grasses and some shrubbery. The air seems quite a bit warmer than it was in Paradisa as well. It is not an empty plains, though; buffalo roam the area, generally pretty tranquil as they graze on the grasses, sometimes lifting their heads to look curiously at the residents. Well. If they had eyes, that is.]

The Buffalo seems put off by his yelling and starts off towards the herd once more]

We can't camp here. We can't camp here. They. ... Eat. People.

They don't, actually. [She looks out towards the herd] I haven't seen it, myself, but a couple of them have been killed in the past. Apparently when someone gutted it a few years ago they found that the when the body is turned inside out it looks like an eyeless human. [She shudders] Of course what possessed someone to actually go hunting for one it in the first place is beyond me. You ask me I say we should just leave these creatures alone to live their lives in peace. There are dangerous things out here but they're not it.

Ace Ventura. Pet Detective.

Phoebe Halliwell. It's a pleasure to meet you... I've never heard of a pet detective before.
no subject
But yes... pet detectives are a rare breed - even if there should be more, if you ask me. Not that I'm complaining - being the only one's surprisingly good for business.

[She smiles]
Well I'm sure you'll drum up some business here. A surprising amount of people have pets and when someone goes home their pet either ends up abandoned or left to someone else who might not even want them. I know there's an animal shelter in town but the girl who'd been running it went home a long time ago. I don't think anyone's taken it over since then.

No no, why are you here? You're supposed to be in the nice safe non-alien-bug infested castle.

no subject
...Probably.

Well, you're here now, so there's not a lot I can do about it. Can you at least promise to hide somewhere safe if anything dangerous happens?
...There is 'no' answer to that question, by the way.
