[Good evening, explorers! After departing from Cair Paradisa, the path was south at first, but turned west fairly early on. Skirting well south of Eldritch Forest, the travelers had camped near the edge of the Amber Steppe, not quite within sight of the forest that marks the Totem Coast. The grasses are parched brown by the heat, though greener patches mark the presence of water. It's near one of these - a small, bubbling stream leading west that Raine has chosen to follow as it will almost certainly run into the river marked on her map - that the travelers have made their camp.

The carts and wagons are arranged in a defensive circle, though the campers are free to set up their tents outside them as well as inside wher ethe rest of them are. There are small cooking fires scattered around as well as a large bonfire in the center for socializing.

Play music? Sing? Teach those poor non-Earth kids how to make s'mores? Or just sit around and socialize with others.

Or hide in your tent and ignore everyone, if you really want to.]

[Of course, Aradia interprets this as a metaphorical kidnapping. You know, when you kind of drag someone out to do stuff even though they say they don't want to, but they don't really resist and usually they wind up having fun in spite of themselves! [Fortunately she is not oblivious to sarcasm, and gives him a wry smile.]

[ Barely catching a breath, Arya ducks under again almost immediately. She kicks water Dany's way. Turning around, she lifts her head out so she can breathe. ]

[A bit of a shrug, because he's not sure what to answer to that.

Lays down backwards over the grass.]

We've got some hints but nothing definitive. There was a cave-in and an attack before we could get much.

[Carolina reaches into her pack to grab her old journal, different from the ones most people got now, and flips open to the page of a rubbing she'd taken of the letters L I B E T, next to a sketched out map of what they'd seen there.]

[ She squeaks, shielding her face from the splashes, but she does retaliate when Arya resurfaces, she laughs and outstretches her hand. ]

Come here, if we continue this there will be no water left to wash ourselves with.

Oh man, okay I need to have one. You can't go camping without S'mores! Or at least toasted marshmallows.

[Sheena draws one foot out of the water and bends her knee to rest her head upon it. She looks at him for a long moment.]

It's not that simple, is it?

Quite troubled for a place suppose to be paradise, huh?

[Not that he hadn't expected it. There was no place perfect, and certainly not one that came for free.]

When is it ever?

[She makes a derisive noise.]

No time that I can remember.

[And both of them seem too young to know this, don't they?]

[ Laughing, Arya wades closer and takes her hand. ]

[ She pulls her closer, playfully splashing some water on her face. ]

Will you let me clean your hair?

A lot more troubled for a place that's supposed to be paradise.

[Carolina nods, tucking her journal back away neatly.] And as we were coming back, the Castle was attacked by the First Gens.

[ Arya makes a 'blegh' noise, but does not retaliate. After a moment, she turns around. ]

[ Dany pulls a face, tilting her head to give Arya a look. ]

I won't pull it. [ Have a little faith girl. And she is true to her word, she does very well not pulling it as she de-tangles the mess. She tries to remember how Irri would do it, how apt her hands were at it, and tries to mimic her. ]

You have lovely hair, Arya. Perhaps you will allow me to put it up in a braid when we are done? [ It'll be hilariously simply, but hey that is all she can do right now. ]

Zelos has been doing my hair.

He has? [ Her tone does nothing to hide her surprise. ] I am surprised he knows how to do your hair. [ Well... to a point, considering that the man has rather long hair himself. It really is not as much of a surprise as she makes it sounds. ]

Would you rather he do it?

[ She shrugs. ]

I don't care. He only does it because he says it would be too much a pain to brush my hair every day.
